The Wishes Carried in the Sky
In our previous article, we explored how koinobori move against the wind. Now, we begin to understand what they carry.
They are not alone.
In the sky, they rise together.
Different sizes. Different colors. Moving as one.
At first, it may seem like decoration.
A seasonal display. A familiar scene of spring.
But each one carries a meaning.
The black carp. The largest.
It represents the father.
The red carp.
Strong, but slightly smaller.
It represents the mother.
And the blue carp.
Light. New. Beginning its journey.
It represents the child.
They are arranged with intention.
Not randomly. Not equally.
Each has a place.
Together, they form a family.
Not standing side by side, but flowing in the same direction.
Above them, the wind continues to move.
Unseen. Uncontrolled.
And yet, something is being carried.
A wish.
That the child will grow strong. That they will face the current. That they will find their own way forward.
The carp does not speak.
The sky does not answer.
But the message remains.
Quietly, it rises.
