A Window Open to Autumn

A Window Open to Autumn

Autumn Arrives Quietly Series Vol.4

For the first time in months, an open window no longer feels like an invitation for summer heat.

Instead, cool air enters the room.

It moves gently across the floor, carries the faint sounds of the neighborhood inside, and makes the curtains shift almost without notice.

No need to hurry and close the window.

So we leave it open.

Outside, much of the world is still green.

A few insects continue their evening songs. Somewhere nearby, a bicycle passes along a quiet street. Leaves move softly whenever another breeze arrives.

Inside, the room begins to feel different too.

The air conditioner can finally rest.

A warm cup of tea feels welcome again.

Sunlight no longer needs to stay outside behind closed curtains. It can stretch across the floor while cooler air moves through the room.

These small changes quietly reshape our everyday routines.

We sit a little closer to the window.

We notice the sounds outside.

Perhaps we stay there a little longer than usual.

Autumn doesn't happen only in forests, gardens, or changing leaves.

It enters our homes as well.

Through an open window.

Through the air we allow inside.

Through the small ways our daily lives begin to change with the season.

First, we felt autumn in the breeze.

Then we heard it in the evening and saw it in the afternoon light.

Now, we can open the window and let it in.
